Aviation-Event 2026 CLJ International Conference will take place on 20 March 2026 at Avram Iancu International Airport in Cluj Napoca, Northern Romania. The event, organized by Aviation-Event in collaboration with Cluj International Airport, marks the fifth consecutive conference held in Romania and will gather senior airport executives, airline representatives, industry experts, institutions and media from across Europe and beyond.
The 2026 conference focuses on strategic challenges and opportunities shaping European aviation, including air transport competitiveness, regulatory frameworks, sustainability, infrastructure development and future passenger flows. The publication “Traveling in the Aegean and the Ionian Sea” serves once again as the Communication Sponsor of the Conference.
Building on previous editions, Aviation-Event 2026 CLJ aims to provide a high-level platform for international networking and knowledge exchange. The programme combines strategic panel discussions with practical insights, encouraging open dialogue between industry leaders and decision-makers.
Dr. David Ciceo, CEO of Cluj International Airport, said: “Aviation-Event CLJ has become a reference point for aviation stakeholders in the region and beyond. Hosting the fifth event in Cluj–Napoca underlines our commitment to international cooperation and constructive dialogue in the aviation sector, reaffirming Cluj International Airport’s commitment to strengthening international cooperation, innovation and sustainable development in aviation.”
Marcel Riwalsky, CEO of Aviation-Event, added: “Organizing the fifth consecutive Aviation-Event in Romania is a milestone that we are particularly proud of. Cluj International Airport “Avram Iancu” has become a strong and reliable partner and Aviation-Event 2026 CLJ will once again continue to provide an international platform for dialogue and cooperation within European aviation.”
Organizers say the conference will offer participants extensive networking opportunities, access to senior decision-makers and international media exposure. The format reinforces Aviation-Event’s position as a leading aviation conference platform in Europe.
Cluj International Airport, the main gateway to northwestern Romania, has recorded significant growth over the past decade. Passenger numbers increased from 36,000 per year in 1996 to more than 3.58 million passengers in 2025, reflecting continued strategic investment in infrastructure and services.
Aviation-Event hosts major conferences across Europe each year, bringing together stakeholders from airlines, airports, government agencies and technology providers. The platform aims to strengthen collaboration, promote innovation and contribute to shaping the future direction of the aviation industry.
