Aviation Leaders Gather in Cluj for Aviation-Event 2025 CLJ

Aviation-Event 2025 CLJ is set to take place on March 21, 2025, at Cluj International Airport, bringing together industry leaders, policymakers, and experts to discuss pressing challenges and opportunities in the aviation sector.

The conference, organized by Aviation-Event and hosted by Cluj International Airport, will address key issues such as decarbonization, regulatory harmonization, and aviation safety, as well as the role of innovation in shaping the future of air travel.

The event will open with a Welcome Session, where local administrative representatives will emphasize the importance of aviation for economic growth and connectivity in the region. This will be followed by a Moderated Welcome Keynote, during which David Ciceo, CEO of Cluj International Airport, will provide insights into Romania’s aviation sector and Cluj-Napoca’s role within it. The session will be moderated by Raphael Muelders, a journalist from La Libre Belgique.

Industry Experts and Thought Leaders Take the Stage

Aviation-Event 2025 CLJ will feature a Keynote Interview with Candace McGraw, Chair of ACI World Governing Board, who will discuss aero-political challenges in an evolving global landscape with Marcel Riwalsky, CEO of Aviation-Event.

Additionally, three expert panel discussions will focus on critical industry topics:

  • Panel 1: “Europe on Its Own?” – Examining whether major aviation players are moving away from liberalization and decarbonization, and the implications for competition and environmental goals.
  • Panel 2: “Shaping the Future of Aviation” – Exploring how established corporations and startups can collaborate on innovation, and addressing funding and regulatory hurdles.
  • Panel 3: “The Roadmap to Implementing Aviation Safety and Regulations” – Highlighting the need for a unified global approach to aviation safety.

Cluj International Airport: A Growing Hub

Hosting Aviation-Event for the fourth time, Cluj International Airport is increasingly positioning itself as a key player in Romania’s aviation industry. According to David Ciceo, the event presents an opportunity to introduce new, relevant topics that will shape the future of air travel.

“Although this is the fourth edition of the Aviation-Event conference in Cluj, we continue to prioritize fresh discussions that address today’s global challenges. Bringing together leaders from different sectors allows us to find effective solutions that will impact the future of aviation,” said Ciceo.

Similarly, Marcel Riwalsky emphasized the significance of the event, noting that it has become a must-attend gathering for aviation professionals across Europe and beyond.

“The Aviation-Event team is thrilled to return to Cluj for the fourth consecutive year. What started four years ago during uncertain times—when COVID-19 was still a major concern—has now grown into one of the most important aviation conferences of the year,” said Riwalsky.

As the aviation industry navigates regulatory shifts, sustainability goals, and technological advancements, Aviation-Event 2025 CLJ will serve as a crucial platform for exchanging ideas and forging new collaborations.
