The Mexico City Ministry of Tourism is honored to announce that the destination will be the host city of Tianguis Turistico, the largest travel conference in Mexico which takes place from March 26 to 29, 2023. Backed by its vast cultural offering, the Mexican capital boasts more than 172 museums and archaeological sites, shopping malls, unique architectural sights and attractions for all types of travelers.
This year’s event boasts the presence of over 2000 buyers – including tour operators and travel agencies from more than 70 countries – holding business meetings with close to 2,000 exhibitors. Tianguis Turistico will take place at Centro Citibanamex, a world-class architecture with capability to host a wide range of events at any scale.

Known as the most important tourism fair in Latin America, Tianguis is celebrated in Mexico City for the first time”, said Miguel Torruco Marqués, Secretary of Tourism of Mexico. “Mexico is a mosaic of history, culture, tradition, folklore and gastronomy. This event highlights our robust tourism offerings, which include our beaches, mountains, World Heritage sites, protected natural areas, and 132 Magic Towns (Pueblos Mágicos)”.
Tianguis Turístico continues to validate its importance within Mexico’s tourism and travel industry. To date, more 80,000 pre-scheduled business appointments have been coordinated. The main objective of this program is to expand the promotion and marketing of all tourism products, services, and travel experiences in Mexico while showcasing the attractions that make Mexico City a destination of choice for national and international tourists.

In addition to its cultural offer, and prominence within the touristic ecosystem of Mexico, the city also undertook the renovation of 16 public parks, providing more than 8,600 miles of green areas and soon to be the world’s biggest Photovoltaic Power Plant which will benefit more than 440 thousand residents a day. Most recently, Mexico City garnered the World Green City Award for 2022 in part in commemoration of its expansion and improvement of public transportation and more than 800 miles in bicycle lanes that cross the city, turning the Mexican capital into an interconnected destination. The city also has a robust connectivity system with more than 33 thousand wi-fi points. In addition to its various beautification and transportation updgrades, the Mexico city also offers unique experiences such as the Chapultepec Castle, the only castle in the continent, as well as several internationally known areas such as Polanco, Roma or Condesa, Mexico City has an unparalleled offer for any visitor, , earning the name “The City that’s got it all”.
